Telegram proxy for Android
Tap the button on this phone — Telegram opens and offers to turn the proxy on. Nothing to install.
Start with the regular MTProto proxy: it works in any Telegram version. If it does not connect, try WebProxy — it runs over port 443 like ordinary HTTPS and already works on all platforms.
The proxy is being set up — meanwhile fresh proxies are posted in the channel: @proxii
How to connect
- Tap “Connect on Android” above. If Android asks which app should open the link, choose Telegram.
- In Telegram tap “Connect Proxy” after checking the server, port and secret.
- Check Settings → Data and Storage → Proxy Settings: “Use Proxy” is on and the server says “connected”.
If Telegram did not open
- Make sure the Telegram app is installed — the web version in a browser has no proxy settings.
- Open this page in another browser: some do not pass links to apps.
- Or tap “Copy link”, send it to Saved Messages and tap it in the chat.
Add a proxy manually
Settings → Data and Storage → Proxy Settings → Add Proxy, choose MTProto and enter the server, port and secret from the link. Third-party clients such as Telegram X or Nekogram accept the same link; their menus may be named differently, so look for the word “Proxy”.
Battery savers and background limits
Some Android phones stop apps in the background. If messages arrive only after you open Telegram, the proxy is not the cause: allow Telegram to run in the background in the battery settings. The proxy reconnects by itself when Telegram wakes up.
Not working on Android?
Tap the button again for a fresh link, then try WebProxy — it goes over port 443 like any HTTPS site. Update Telegram from Google Play and turn off other VPN apps while testing.
If it works on Wi-Fi but not on mobile data, the carrier may only allow whitelisted sites. Then a VPN for the whole phone is needed: posts in @proxii carry a button for a VPN trial.

Questions
Do I need a separate proxy app?
No. The proxy is built into Telegram.
How do I turn the proxy off?
Settings → Data and Storage → Proxy Settings, switch off “Use Proxy”.
Does the proxy work for Telegram calls?
No. Calls use a separate connection and do not go through MTProto proxy or WebProxy.
